Nakita Clarke is a design provocateur shaping the future. Her work lives in the quiet tension between softness and strength, tradition and rebellion, beauty and danger.
Born in New York and raised between the Caribbean warmth of Trinidad and Tobago and the cosmopolitan pulse of Toronto, Nakita’s world has always been a fusion of identities. That mix of rhythm, diaspora, and edge is the foundation of her aesthetic. Her designs carry the spirit of where she comes from and the audacity of where she’s going. Constant movement and many homes became her language — texture, contrast, and complexity woven into everything she creates.
Her instinct for style began early, inspired by her mother’s effortless, rebellious sense of fashion and her family’s furniture business, where she first understood how design can shape emotion. That early education evolved into formal studies in fashion, wardrobe styling, and interior design — a creative path that sharpened her eye and strengthened her artistic voice. Along the way, she learned what all great design has in common: it tells the truth without speaking.
As a model turned stylist turned self-made designer, Nakita developed her perspective from the inside out. She learned fashion through experience, intuition, and proximity — understanding not just how clothing looks, but how it lives on the body. That journey gave her a rare perspective: the discipline of the craft, the intimacy of fit, and the storytelling power of clothing. It is the lens through which she now builds NVKD — a brand rooted in precision, sensuality, and a fearless rejection of the ordinary.
She is creating a world where dark femininity is not something negative or feared, but a declaration. To Nakita, it represents an unapologetic sense of style and the courage to step outside what society deems acceptable. It is not trend-driven and it does not seek approval. It is embodiment. Authority. Rebellion. Ownership. It is for those who are often admired, desired, and misunderstood.
Today, Nakita’s work is a reflection of her identity: cultured, confident, and intentionally unapologetic. Her work does not end with fashion. With hands-on experience in real estate, supported by a diploma in interior design and a foundation in home staging, Nakita has worked closely with properties to elevate spaces through intentional design, understanding how atmosphere, flow, and visual storytelling influence perception and value. Drawing from her background in interiors, styling, and spatial design, she founded NC + CO — a home staging and design studio rooted in the belief that spaces, like people, should feel powerful, lived-in, and intentional.
She has also founded Her Path Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women and girls through healing, creativity, and empowerment. The foundation provides access to therapy, education, housing, and essential care — creating pathways toward safety, dignity, and possibility. To Nakita, healing is the most beautiful design.
Her global travels continue to inform her artistry and shape her worldview. Whether immersed in the spiritual pull of Tulum, the art of Amsterdam, the cultural richness of London, or the sun-soaked soul of the Dominican Republic, each place she visits adds new layers of depth, inspiration, and cultural connection to her ever-evolving creative language.
Whether through design or philanthropy, Nakita Clarke is not simply building brands — she is building legacy.
